Scottish Water seeks supplier interest in upcoming £500 million+ Ceramic Membrane Programme

Scottish Water has published a Periodic Indicative Notice inviting suppliers to express their interest in its upcoming £500 million Ceramic Membrane Programme.

The water company is looking to appoint strategic partners to deliver Ceramic Membrane plants as part of its Ceramic Membrane Capital Investment Programme. Framework(s) will be awarded for 2025-2033, with extension options up to 2039.

Estimated programme value is in the range of £425 million to £595 million (based on 2023 prices).

Scottish Water requires a range of supplier capabilities in order to deliver the programme, including MEICA, Civil Construction and Ceramic Membrane Product suppliers. These may be procured either as combined requirements or as separate Lots.

Phase 1 of the Programme will consist of the delivery of Turriff Ceramic Membrane Water Treatment Works. For Phase 2 onwards the partners appointed to deliver the programme will be required to integrate, from a delivery and commercial perspective, into Scottish Water's updated supply chain Enterprise design for the SR27 strategic review investment progrmme 2027-2033.

Scottish Water is also asking suppliers to indicate the capabilities which they could offer, as well as whether they can offer combined capabilities. They are also asked to state whether they have both design & build capability, as well as the capability to perform Principal Designer / Principal contractor roles under CDM regulations.
